Edward Burke

Edward A. Burke
My work examines the ecological consequences of human ambition and the cultural systems that normalize environmental degradation. Through drawing and painting, I confront the uneasy truth embedded within the phrase “I Am The Problem.”
Rather than positioning catastrophe as distant or abstract, the work implicates the viewer directly. It resists comfort. It asks how individual identity, consumption, nationalism, religion, and technology intersect in the ongoing unraveling of the natural world.
Each body of work functions as both image and inquiry — a visual reckoning with responsibility, complicity, and the fragile future of the planet. The intention is not resolution, but sustained dialogue.
